My soul’s awakened by the rain, Whose songs crescendo through. <I needed this; I needed change…> Her last drops leave me new.

Black
A black aroma fills my nose,
Josyift, 2023
White flowers glisten through.
Even in the darkness, everyone knows
This sweet enchantment’s you.
The Wild Rose
She bent down to breathe in a rose,
Josyift 2023
But leaves got in her way.
The dirt soon, too, soiled her nose –
Still wet from break of day.
(How wild and okay!)
If, Then
I’m just a student of the pen
Josyift, 2023
And learning how to feel.
But I just heard that A.I.’s in;
it’s too late to be real!
Salvation
I used to love you more than life itself,
Josyift, 2023
A time so long ago that I forgot.
Today I’m just a miserable self.
But then again, I haven’t yet forgot.
I am not like the other people here,
But solitude has been my greatest gift.
I journeyed by myself and found you near;
You gave this lonely hitchhiker a lift.
I used to always rush to what is new,
But there’s been nothing new since I found you.
Found in you, through you, I was made anew.
And I’ve been made anew again, tonight.
Do you still love me more than life itself?
Do you still love me, Joe, the miserable self?
