I do Not Wish to Leave

I did not wish to leave my happy place,
To wander in the gardens I had made,
To wear the sun and hear what birds did sang.
But when I left, I harbored in the taste.

  1. The poet’s RE: I do not wish to leave
Is a sharp contrast to the opening line of the letter.
Here is so much mixed feelings embedded in the letter
Yet, I have the sense I understand all these mixed feelings

    Like love
    So is life
    Strangely
    enough
    You keep it with you
    It is a the secret
    of an old-fashioned
    Love Story
